The Getty Education and Community Investment Grants Program
The League of American Orchestras is pleased to announce a fourth round of grants to orchestras to help stimulate growth and excellence in education and community engagement programming. With funding from the Ann and Gordon Getty Foundation, these one-year grants, ranging from $10,000 to $30,000, will be awarded to orchestras for activities in fiscal year 2016. This is a new funding cycle; all orchestras meeting the guidelines are encouraged to apply.
Funds are available for orchestras to:
- plan, develop, and implement innovative new initiatives that strengthen community ties and respond to community needs(funds are not available for planning alone)
- strengthen exemplary programs with a demonstrated track record of success.
Funds cannot be used to:
- create new organizations or to
- support single events and activities, such as assembly programs, standard children’s or family concerts, and holiday concerts that do not represent the development or support of long-term relationships.
Orchestras will hear back regarding the status of their letter of inquiry by September 15, 2015. For those orchestras invited to submit full proposals, final applications will be due October 14, 2015.
