Welcome to the League's Economic Crossroads

Share/Bookmark

Dear Colleagues,

I am happy to introduce a new feature of the League’s website, Economic Crossroads. This is here to assist our members in addressing the extraordinary challenges posed by the continuing economic downturn. Economic Crossroads provides information and tools devoted to the economy and financial management, advocacy, governance, development, public relations, and human resources. (See menu on the left)

While not everything will be germane to your situation or your organization’s level of experience, you may want to share some of these materials and opportunities with members of your staff and/or board.

In addition to the online resources, the League is pleased to offer our new Member Support Desk. James Holt, in the League’s Member Services Department, is our dedicated staff member on call to signpost you to the information you are seeking or field questions, issues, and concerns you may have. James may be reached at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it . Please note that all correspondence about any of the above subject matter is strictly confidential.

Finally, these pages will be updated regularly, and as we research new and important information our members have requested. I believe the Economic Crossroads is an important development for members and as always we appreciate your feedback.

Best wishes,

Jesse Rosen
President and CEO

Economic Crossroads is made possible in part by a generous grant from The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation

The League is pleased to make available two of its most important new works at a reduced price. On the Road to Authentic Civic Engagement: An Assessment Resource for Orchestras in Their Communities and the Board of Directors Self-Assessment Tool are available for 50% off the regular price for a limited time only.

These unique resources will enable you to gauge where your orchestra stands in these vital areas, and what you can improve on, making your organization stronger, more focused on your mission, and able to weather the current storm.

We believe that even with the all challenges of today’s economy, with it comes opportunity. These two assessment tools will help open up the possibilities, whether it be further engagement in your community or taking an honest look at your board’s performance and expectations.
