Developing a 21st Century Public Relations Strategy for Your Orchestra in 2009
This seminar grounds participants in the basics for developing a 21st century PR strategy that employs the newest tools for responding to a challenging media environment exacerbated by the onset of the recession. Learn how to think strategically about PR planning and implementation along with the nuts and bolts of how to develop a cost effective PR plan. Topics to be addressed include: communication around financial challenges, and crisis management; managing media relations and events; engaging your music director and musicians; developing creative institutional partnerships, and the essential role of community building. Attendees will learn about the dos and don’ts of working with reporters, interfacing with the blogosphere and other new/social media, and positioning your orchestra in your community. The seminar will also explore how to manage and build your orchestra’s reputation through proactive media relations and preparation for tough reporters.
