This seminar will address the key question, “What will make for successful pops programming for my orchestra in 2009?” ; addressing the pops audience; orchestra versus artist-focused programs; and how to develop the pops audience into long-term patrons.

This seminar will explore how orchestras are structured, how they function, and what some of the pitfalls and challenges may be for executive directors in maximizing their effectiveness – particularly in the current environment.

Developing a 21st Century Public Relations Strategy for Your Orchestra in 2009
This seminar grounds participants in the basics for developing a 21st century PR strategy that employs the newest tools for responding to a challenging media environment.

Managing and Leading a Youth Orchestra
This seminar will explore the areas of leadership, programming, recruitment, retention, working with parents and adolescents, fundraising, maximizing rehearsal time, and much more.

Guidance for Governance Leaders: Navigating Your Orchestra through Troubled Times
Participants will explore best-practices in non-profit governance in today’s turbulent economy; learn how the board chair and executive director can function as true partners in navigating the challenges of the economic recession; and take a strategic look at maximizing the effectiveness and engagement of the board overall.

Developing the Top Volunteer Talent Needed to Survive and Thrive 
Participants will learn the skills necessary to recruit, leverage and retain volunteer expertise across the generations in order to survive and thrive in today’s economy.

Seminar for Women Conductors
This session will explore how women conductors can best grow artistically and advance professionally. 

Trustees as Donors: Essential Skills for a Difficult Climate
This skills-based session, will focus on the critical role of trustees in development, both as fund-raisers and advocates, and provide tangible techniques to increase effectiveness.

Participants will learn effective strategies for managing through the current severe recession.
