Each year chosen Fellows undertake a series of residencies with orchestras of various sizes across the United States.

During the year the Fellows receive invaluable work experience, an intense course of study and the support and nurturing of program and host orchestra staff, in particular that of the orchestra executive director. Fellows also participate in Leadership seminars and receive a comprehensive overview of the concert music industry.

What does the program achieve?

To date over 173 Fellows have participated in the program, more than 75 now hold orchestra leadership positions throughout the United States and abroad and 28 are executive directors.

Who may apply?

Fellows are selected through a competitive application and interview process that seeks individuals who are creative problem solvers, active learners with a high degree of curiosity about the field and the management of orchestras, and are willing to take risks and challenge themselves to stretch beyond their comfort zone.
