Like most non-profits, our field experiences significant turn-over in
the revenue generating areas of our work—specifically in marketing and
development. We welcome many people to our staffs who may bring
experience from other disciplines, but who lack specific knowledge of
(and perhaps even passion for) orchestras. The internal dynamics that
drive decision-making and organizational culture can appear mysterious
– even off-putting. What can we do ensure the success of those entering
our world in the marketing and development areas?
This seminar is not Marketing or Development 101. It is a deep dive
into what makes orchestras special. What are the specific opportunities
and challenges that may face new marketing and development personnel
(or those with those responsibilities in their portfolios)? And, what
information and insights can we provide that can help to ensure success
and improve retention?
This seminar will equip those new to orchestras, and those who aspire
to work for orchestras in the revenue generating areas, with the
knowledge and strategic skills necessary for success.
