Orchestra leaders stay connected via e-mail discussion groups, courtesy of the League of American Orchestras. The groups serve as a platform to pose questions, seek advice, and broadcast information to a select group of people.
Technically, each e-mail discussion groups is a Listserv. This software automatically distributes an e-mail message from one member of a list to all other members on that list.
Fill in the form below and click "Send Mail." In a few days you will receive a confirmation message with instructions. Once you've joined, you may want to "observe" for a while or just jump in with a question. Remember, you'll be addressing the entire group by sending one e-mail. You can ask questions, solicit advice, or distribute helpful information.
Unlike many other "bulletin boards" (that show your communications to the rest of the world), the League's e-mail discussion groups deliver discreet messages to only the people in your group.
Although the e-mail discussion groups are hosted by the League as a service to our members, we cannot control message content. Please use discretion when communicating with your colleagues.
Remember: Anyone affiliated with a League-member orchestra may join a discussion group. However, the user's position with an orchestra must correspond with the topic of the discussion group. For example, only those employed in a Development capacity for an orchestra can join the development list.
