2008 Fall Meeting for Marketing and PR Managers from Orchestras in Groups 1 and 2

Friday, October 24 - Saturday, October 25

Highlight presentations:

Digital Orchestra Project

The Digital Orchestra Project was created as a joint effort between the New York Philharmonic, Baltimore Symphony and the League to advance the adoption of New Media within orchestras around the world.  To that end, the DOP seeks to help foster New Media strategies, measure ongoing progress in the industry, and share information and trends related to New Media.

The following PPT deck represents results from the first in a series of surveys that will define current state and a baseline for improvement of current new media adoption in the industry.

The initial survey was conducted in August 2008 with Group 1-2 orchestras and included approximately 60 short answer questions related to current web technologies, online sales and staffing resources. The resulting data formed the basis of a presentation and discussion at the Fall Marketing and PR meeting in NYC.

As the DOP develops, it will explore specific topics such as web analytics, new media strategy and adoption of specific technologies.
