Making the Case for our Non-profit Status
The single greatest form of public support for America's orchestras is their tax-exempt nonprofit status. Given today's intense economic and politcal climate, we can't take for granted the substantial privileges and responsibilities that come with being a member of our nation's non-profit community. Tough questions are being asked about the public value that orchestras and other non-profit cultural organizations provide in return for tax exemption. Is your orchestra prepared to respond to them?
