2014 Pre-Conference Registration Rates

Pre-Conference Sessions – Three DayFree

Includes Foundations of Collective Bargaining. Please note that you may only participate in one pre-Conference seminar. If you are planning to attend the three-day seminar, you cannot also register for a one-day seminar.

Pre-Conference Sessions – One Day$150

Includes all pre-Conference sessions besides Foundations of Collective Bargaining. Please note that you may only participate in one pre-Conference seminar. If you are planning to attend a one-day seminar, you cannot also register for a three-day seminar.

Groups of 3 or more volunteers or board members from the same organization may attend for a flat rate of $1,200. Please contact Member Services at conference@americanorchestras.org for details. On-Site Registration Hours

When you arrive at Conference, your first stop should be the Registration area to pick up your badge and Conference materials. On Monday morning, registration is located inside the Foundations of Collective Bargaining seminar room beginning at 12:30pm.

Official Conference Hotel

Conference will be held at the Westin Seattle, located at 1900 5th Avenue, Seattle, WA 98101. Reservations can be made by calling the Westin at 1 888 627 8513.The League’s discounted rate at the Westin Seattle has expired. Limited rooms are still available at the Westin for significantly higher rates. If you are looking for a hotel at the $199 conference rate, the Hotel Max, located right across the street from the Westin, has agreed to extend the $199 rate for a limited time. Please call Jennifer Cooper, sales manager at the Hotel Max, to secure the rate at 206 374 7702. Please note that this rate will not be available through reservations at the hotel, and that you will need to call the referenced number to receive the discount.Delegates are also encouraged to consider reducing costs by having a roommate. Transportation

The official ground transportation provider for the League Conference is Go: Shuttle Express. They will provide a discounted rate of $25 for round trip transportation to/from Seattle’s SeaTac airport. Please book your trip by May 14 to secure the League discount. Click here for more information.

FAQs

Why should I come to Conference?
You might get 1,000 different answers from our 1,000 delegates! But we think the top three reasons to come are: 1) you want to meet, network, and learn from your peers; 2) you want to do your job better; 3) to know you’re not alone – there are other people out there with the same goals, aspirations, and questions that you have.

Where should I stay?
The official Conference hotel is the Seattle Westin – most sessions will be held in the hotel. More information can be found in the Hotel and Transportation tab on this page.

How do I get the most out of Conference?
We jam pack three days full of learning, networking, and music. We recommend taking a look at the Conference schedule so you’re prepared for what is planned. Reading through the Electives sessions is also helpful, so you’re not choosing what session to go to on the fly. Other than that? Introduce yourself to everyone – meeting other delegates is one of the best parts of Conference.

What are Electives, and should I pick which ones to attend now?
This year we’ve renamed our Toolboxes and Perspectives to simply be called electives. This year we will have three blocks of electives and you are welcome to choose any one during each time slot. It is really helpful for us if you select these sessions now so we can organize appropriate sized rooms for each. Find the full list of Electives here.

What are pre-Conference seminars?
We know that lots of people want to make their trip to Seattle as packed with learning as possible, so for an additional fee you can arrive early and chose from one of several intensive, hands-on, learning sessions. More information about these can be found here.

Are any group registration rates available?
This year, we have a special group rate available for groups of volunteers or board members (flat rate of $1,200 for a group of 3 or more). Please contact Member Services at 212 262 5161 or conference@americanorchestras.org for details. Is there anything else I need to know?
Just come to the Registration Area as soon as you arrive – we’ll have all your materials ready and the program book or app will give you the essential information needed for everything happening at Conference.
