Volunteers have their own unique needs and interests, so we developed a special schedule for our volunteers so you will get the most out of the League’s 2013 National Conference.
Volunteer Conference Agenda, June 18
8:45-9:15am: Welcome and Introductions
9:15-10:15am: LA Philharmonic Affiliates Fundraising Workshop
Need a renewed sparkle in your fundraising efforts? Learn to tap into a goldmine of information, by seeing how Los Angeles Philharmonic Affiliates volunteers collaborated with LA Philharmonic Development Department mentors in a Fundraising Workshop. In this interactive workshop you will learn some of the techniques that were especially successful for them and you will take away new ideas to apply to your own fundraising.
10:15-10:30am: Coffee Break
10:30am-12:00pm: Gold Book Awards and Excellence Presentations
Everyone is a winner when you take home fresh ideas from our Gold Book Award of Excellence presentations. This session will give you the opportunity to learn about the winning projects, their new ideas, and their new twists on tried and true projects. Areas covered this year include: Fundraising, Community Engagement, Membership Recruitment and Retention, and Education. Three presentations will be given at each session with ample time for group discussion following each presentation.
12:45-1:15pm: First-Timer Orientation
1:30-2:00pm: Charlotte Guild’s Comprehensive Communication Workshop
With the emergence of online communications and social media, publications have quickly become outdated, repetitive, untimely, and ungainly. The Symphony Guild of Charlotte will present their strategy to streamline the many modes of communication they employed with membership/stakeholders. Outcomes include: information immediacy and accessibility, less intrusion, branding and messaging clarity, and synergy between social media. This will be an interactive session – input from all delegates will be sought, so plan to share your organization’s best communications practices.
2:00-3:15pm: Gold Book Awards of Excellence Presentations
A continuation of winning project presentations and discussion.
4:15-5:45pm: Opening Session (Powell Hall)
