Official Conference Hotel

Conference will be held at the Hyatt Regency St. Louis at The Arch, located at 315 Chestnut Street, St Louis, MO 63102. Rooms at the Hyatt Regency are SOLD OUT, and we have also sold out of the overflow block of rooms reserved at the Pear Tree Inn.

Rooms in downtown St. Louis are very hard to come by at this point due to another large convention at the same time. We recommend that delegates check travel sites like Expedia, Travelocity, Hotels.com, Kayak, or others to secure accommodations in St. Louis or the surrounding communities.

Delegates are also encouraged to consider reducing costs by having a roommate. View a list of delegates by organization or last name and find someone to share your space.

Transportation

St. Louis offers a variety of transportation options that will fit your needs. To learn more, visit the Explore St. Louis site. For information on traveling from the airport to the Hyatt Regency St. Louis, click here.

Welcome to the League’s National Conference – You’re 1 in 3!

You’re not alone. Each year almost a third of our Conference delegates are participating for the first time.

The first thing you will notice is the sheer scale: it’s big!

Nearly 1,000 delegates from orchestras and organizations all over the US and overseas attend Conference every year. At first it can seem a little daunting – but don’t worry, you’ll get the hang of it.

Tips for a great first Conference:

  • Before Conference – direct all questions to conference@americanorchestras.org.
  • During Conference – use the registration area as a home base when you have questions or need directions.
  • Register as soon as you arrive. You’ll be able to pick-up all your materials and get familiar with the hotel.
  • Introduce yourself to everyone. New friends are what make Conference successful.
  • Keep your Program Book close – all the essential information you will need is in it.
  • Dress comfortably and bring layers. St. Louis will be warm in June, but hotel AC can keep some rooms chilly!
  • Don’t be afraid to ask! – It makes us happy to answer questions, so don’t be shy.

There is so much we could tell you, but you get the idea. Have fun in St. Louis – we are looking forward to meeting you! Below, read about some of the great things you can expect at Conference.

Constituency Meetings

Every day during Conference you’ll gather together for stimulating meetings with those who best understand the challenges of your position: your peers. These meetings are designed specifically for you to gather with delegates with similar job descriptions, interests, and questions for focused learning and networking. If you do not know your meeting group, you can ask any of the League’s staff in the Registration Area.

Toolboxes and Perspectives

Toolboxes are skill-based sessions designed so you can go home with the tools you need to expand your audience and enhance your orchestra. Perspectives are exciting, big picture topics that offer insight into emerging trends in the orchestral field and may change how you see your role in this rapidly changing arena. Choose the sessions you’d like to participate in when you register.
