Conference will be held at the Hyatt Regency St. Louis at The Arch, located at 315 Chestnut Street, St Louis, MO 63102. Rooms at the Hyatt Regency are SOLD OUT, and we have also sold out of the overflow block of rooms reserved at the Pear Tree Inn. Rooms in downtown St. Louis are very hard to come by at this point due to another large convention at the same time. We recommend that delegates check travel sites like Expedia, Travelocity, Hotels.com, Kayak, or others to secure accommodations in St. Louis or the surrounding communities. Delegates are also encouraged to consider reducing costs by having a roommate. View a list of delegates by organization or last name and find someone to share your space. |
St. Louis offers a variety of transportation options that will fit your needs. To learn more, visit the Explore St. Louis site. For information on traveling from the airport to the Hyatt Regency St. Louis, click here.
You’re not alone. Each year almost a third of our Conference delegates are participating for the first time.
The first thing you will notice is the sheer scale: it’s big!
Nearly 1,000 delegates from orchestras and organizations all over the US and overseas attend Conference every year. At first it can seem a little daunting – but don’t worry, you’ll get the hang of it.
There is so much we could tell you, but you get the idea. Have fun in St. Louis – we are looking forward to meeting you! Below, read about some of the great things you can expect at Conference.
Orchestra Leadership Academy
Get warmed up for the Conference with our extensive Pre-Conference programming. These seminars offer practical discussions and powerful insights into the challenges facing today’s orchestras. Consider coming early and taking advantage of these inexpensive courses to make sure you get the most out of your Conference experience.
General Sessions
What will 2023 look like for you, your orchestra and your community? These thought-provoking welcome and closing sessions invite delegates to envision how their future may take shape.
Constituency Meetings
Every day during Conference you’ll gather together for stimulating meetings with those who best understand the challenges of your position: your peers. These meetings are designed specifically for you to gather with delegates with similar job descriptions, interests, and questions for focused learning and networking. If you do not know your meeting group, you can ask any of the League’s staff in the Registration Area.
Toolboxes and Perspectives
Toolboxes are skill-based sessions designed so you can go home with the tools you need to expand your audience and enhance your orchestra. Perspectives are exciting, big picture topics that offer insight into emerging trends in the orchestral field and may change how you see your role in this rapidly changing arena. Choose the sessions you’d like to participate in when you register.
See a full schedule and descriptions for the Toolboxes and Perspectives.
Exhibit Hall
Don’t miss the opening of the Exhibit Hall on Tuesday, June 18. Nearly 100 companies set out their wares in the Hall, where you can tour the booths, make new connections, and discover the products and services available to you.
Concerts and Festivities
This year the St. Louis Symphony will be performing music spanning from Don Giovanni to Doctor Atomic. In addition, there will be many opportunities at Conference to explore the lively culture of St. Louis and get to know your fellow delegates at fun social events. The Tune-Up Party is hosted by the St. Louis Symphony after their Tuesday night concert. Wednesday afternoon is the All-Delegate Reception in the exhibit hall. And for the sixth year in a row, our young professionals will getting together for Next: an under 35 event.
