Washington. D.C. - The
Arts Require Timely Service (ARTS) Act, which would guarantee reliable and efficient processing of artist visas, has been introduced in both the U.S. House and Senate. The bill is sponsored in the House by Rep. Howard Berman (D-CA) and seven other bipartisan cosponsors, and was introduced in the Senate by Sens. John Kerry (D-MA) and Orrin Hatch (R-UT). Orchestras and the wider performing arts community are working to advance this legislation to passage.
