Chamber Orchestra of the South Bay, $10,000
To support performances of a memorial concert for Korean-born pianist Jungran Khwarg, featuring soloist Robert Thies in the Shostakovich First Piano Concerto.

Charlotte Symphony Orchestra, Charlotte, FL, $10,000
To support The Great Trumpeters, a pops concert featuring guest trumpeter, Gary Guthman. The pops series will feature the music of Louis Armstrong, and NEA Jazz Masters Dizzy Gillespie and Miles Davis for Charlotte County residents.

Fort Smith Symphony, $10,000
To support commissioning and presenting a new work by the symphony's composer-in-residence, Philip Parker. In addition to the concert, project activities will include lectures and classroom presentations for students in grades six through twelve.

Great Falls Symphony, $10,000
To support an open rehearsal and concert with guest violinist, Itzhak Perlman. High school and university string students will attend the rehearsal and discount tickets will be available for disabled individuals to attend the evening performance.

Gwinnett Philharmonic, $10,000
To support a Superlative Strings concert. After the intermission, the Youth Symphony will augment the orchestra.

Jackson Symphony Orchestra, Jackson, MI, $10,000
To support Ebony and Ivory, a series of lectures and a concert featuring guest tenor Paul Adkins and conductor Stephen Osmond. A week of lecture-performances will precede the concert.

Pensacola Symphony Orchestra, $10,000
To support a concert featuring Mahler's Das Lied von der Erde. Guest artists Marietta Simpson and Michael Hendrick will complement the orchestra's first presentation of the Mahler work for audiences from Northwest Florida and Southern Alabama.

Symphony of Southeast Texas, $10,000
To support a concert and school presentations featuring Danzas Peregrinas, a new work by South America composer Horacio Salinas. The work will be performed by the Alturas Duo of Carlos Boltes and Scott Hill with guest artist Gonzalo Cortes, who will perform other South American music in school concerts.

Barron Area Community Center, $10,000
To support residency activities by the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra. The symphony will perform an evening concert and present an Arts in Community Education program in the schools.

Columbus Public Schools, $10,000
To support transportation for school children to performances of the Columbus Symphony, Jazz Arts Group, and Opera Columbus. Each of the participating organizations provides pre-concert materials written to students' reading levels and gives Columbus fourth and fifth graders the opportunity to experience a variety of musical genres and performances.

Cultural Council of Richland & Lexington Counties, $10,000
To support an outreach and ticket subsidy program for the Riverbanks Mozart Festival. The outreach program for students will include concerts, lecture-demonstrations, and a museum tour all celebrating the 250th anniversary of Mozart's birth. Performances will take place in venues throughout the capital area and will include concerts by the Degas Quartet, the South Carolina Philharmonic, and the Columbia City Ballet.

Renovation In Music Education (RIME), $10,000
To support a multimedia concert, An Orchestra's Guide to the Universe. The performance will include projections of images of space provided in collaboration with NASA. Elementary students will perform with the University of Maryland orchestra.
