Updates and Resources—California Wildfires

November 10, 2017

Like yours, our hearts and thoughts are with everyone who is affected by the wildfires in California. The League has contacted our member orchestras in the affected areas, providing resources and assistance, and we will continue to keep you updated and to let you know how you can help.

On Thursday, November 9, Alan Silow of the Santa Rosa Symphony, wrote:

“The Santa Rosa Symphony has suffered substantial financial losses due to the wildfires due to cancelled concerts, cancelled events, unexpected expenses and cancelled annual fund donation campaign. Nevertheless, we are presenting a free fire relief benefit concert with an ‘all-star’ line up of our 3 living music directors in which all donations received will go to local disaster relief funds.

Additionally, ACSO, the Association of California Symphony Orchestras, has established a communities in crisis concert fund for other orchestras to donate to.”
